In view of the Covid-19 situation, TSI commemorated National Day in a special way this year on 7th August 2020. Instead of gathering in the Multi -purpose Hall to celebrate this special occasion, activities were conducted in the classrooms to celebrate the nation’s 55th birthday.
To begin with, teachers shared about Singapore’s history with our international students, sharing about the past and present challenges faced by our country and how each of us has a part to play in building a stronger Singapore. This was followed by the singing segment, where patriotic National Day songs, such as
: “Count on me Singapore “, “We are Singapore “and “Home”, our old favourites were played. During this rousing sing-along session, everyone raised their voices, whether in tune or not, joined the fun.
To conclude the day’s celebration, our students indulged in a meaningful artwork, where they drew prominent landscape of the Singapore and wrote their wishes for Singapore. Their works are showcased at the Student Voices corner.
